Dear Colleagues,

I am a candidate for IEEE Division III Director–Elect in the current IEEE election. As you may know, I served as your IEEE Communications Society President during 2008–9 and would like to continue serving by giving you a voice on the IEEE Board of Directors through being elected Division III Director. Ballots are being sent to IEEE members who are also Communications Society members, with voting during August and September.

If you might not be familiar with the IEEE organizational structure, its technical societies are grouped within IEEE divisions. Some divisions have several societies. Division III, Communications Technology, has just one Society, ComSoc. Each IEEE division has a Division Director who sits on the IEEE Board of Directors. The IEEE board also has other members, including directors from each of its geographical regions and representatives from its major operating units.

This website summarizes my background and qualifications. I encourage all ComSoc members who are eligible to please vote in this important IEEE election, and to encourage their colleagues to do likewise (within IEEE electioneering policy).
